There’s just something so special about couples who fully embrace their wedding day exactly as it comes — and that was Mikayla and Justin to a T. Their wedding day at Oceanview of Nahant was the perfect kickoff to my 2026 wedding season, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to start it all off.
From the second I arrived, the energy of the day was just so light, joyful, and easy. Yes, it rained basically all day long, but you genuinely never would’ve known by the way these two carried themselves. There wasn’t a single complaint, ounce of stress, or moment where they let the weather take away from how excited they were to marry each other. Instead, the entire day was filled with nonstop laughter, huge smiles, and the kind of happiness that you can physically feel when you’re around people.
Mikayla and Justin are truly just the sweetest humans. They made everyone around them feel relaxed and happy, and honestly, they gave off the best vibes all day long. It felt less like “working a wedding” and more like getting to spend the day celebrating alongside friends. Everything flowed so naturally, and despite the rain, it was one of those wedding days that just felt effortless in the best possible way.
One of my favorite moments from the day happened during portraits. We were outside during a break in the weather, embracing whatever weather we were given, and at one point Mikayla literally jumped right into a puddle without a second thought. That moment perfectly summed up the entire day — carefree, joyful, fun, and completely focused on what actually mattered. These two were just so happy to be together, and nothing else was going to change that.
Rainy wedding days always have a way of feeling extra romantic, and Mikayla and Justin proved that you truly do not need perfect weather to have a perfect wedding day. Their happiness, love for each other, and positive energy completely carried the day from beginning to end.
I had the absolute best time celebrating these two at Oceanview of Nahant, and if this wedding was any indication of what the rest of the 2026 season will look like, I already know it’s going to be an incredible year. Congratulations you two! I am so honored I was there to capture it all!
