I swallowed an alarming number of bugs during Emma and Sean’s engagement session.
And honestly? I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
When these two told me they wanted to incorporate some of the things they love doing together, I was immediately on board. They introduced me to a location I had never photographed before and, because they are both so outdoorsy, they brought a canoe out onto the water to make the session feel like them. I don’t get sessions like that every day, and I was all in.
The result? Some of the most stunning engagement photos I’ve captured in a long time.
What I loved most about this session wasn’t just how beautiful everything was—it was how genuine it felt. Nothing felt forced or overly planned. It was simply two people spending an evening together doing something they love, and I just happened to be there documenting it.
To be honest, this session came at the perfect time. As much as I love engagement sessions, sometimes it’s easy to feel like you’re doing the same thing over and over again. Emma and Sean completely changed that. Their sense of adventure, their trust, and their willingness to try anything completely refueled my creativity and reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
And on top of all that, they are just genuinely wonderful people. Kind, sweet, easygoing, and so much fun to spend an evening with. I left with a memory card full of images that I’m completely obsessed with and a renewed excitement for creating.
If this is what their engagement session looked like, I can only imagine what their wedding day is going to be like in just a few months.
Emma and Sean, thank you for trusting me, showing me a new place, embracing the adventure, and proving that swallowing bugs is totally worth it for photos this beautiful!
