There was so many moments throughout this day where I though to myself, “This is why I love my job.” Between one of the sweetest first looks ever, to Jess’ grandpa officiating the ceremony, the entire day was a dream to be a part of. 

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where every aspect of the day highlighted the couples personality and aesthetic. Everything from the florals, to the venue, and the small details just screamed Jess and Matt. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making the overall vision for their wedding come alive. The entire day had this rustic, down to earth, and intimate feel to it. 

One of my absolute favorite parts of the entire day was hands down the first look. You’ve heard me profess my love for first looks over and over again on my social media and blog… and I’m about to do it again. 

If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should do one… this is your sign to freaking go for it! The genuine raw emotion we were able to capture is unbelievably adorable. The best thing about their first look was Jess and Matt got to embrace each other, read their vows to one another, and be fully present in the moment… just the two of them without the pressure of all their guests watching. 

Most people think that doing a first look ruins the “aisle moment” but in reality, it’s so much more intimate and takes all the nerves away. They both told me that was one of the best decisions they made because afterwards, we rolled right into portraits and they both told me how much better and relaxed they felt. If you think about it, you should spend as much time with one another on your wedding day. That is after all, what the day is all about!

After their ceremony was over, they actually got to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests because all the photos were already done. It’s also a good thing we got them done early because it ended up raining not long after the ceremony ended. Can you see where I’m going with this?! Haha. First looks really are the best guys! 

Overall, I am so lucky I got the be there celebrating with the new Mr. and Mrs. Elsevier! Jess and Matt are so loved by their family and friends and that was evident throughout the entire day. 

You two seriously are the BEST and thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day! It really was magical and I’m so excited to share this blog post with you! Keep in touch because you’re not getting rid of me!
