Let’s talk about the kind of weather that makes photographers question everything. Molly and Dionigi’s Portsmouth engagement session had me watching the radar like it was my full-time job. The forecast was flipping back and forth faster than a reality TV plot twist—and yet, somehow, we managed to perfectly dodge the rain.
I’m talking downpour before, downpour after, and golden-hour magic during.
Honestly, I think we deserve some kind of weather miracle award.
I got to Portsmouth early (because, again, the weather had me in full “better safe than soaked” mode), and sure enough—it poured just before our session time. But right when Molly and Dionigi showed up? The skies calmed, the light got dreamy, and we were gifted that rare, stunning mix of glow and overcast.
Translation: photographer heaven. The variety we got in their photos is just chef’s kiss.
And then—oh my goodness—the quiet side street we found? Full of dreamy white blooms and the most peaceful little vibe. I swear, it looked like a scene straight out of a rom-com. The light was perfect. The composition was everything. And Molly and Dionigi? Total naturals in front of the camera. So laid-back, so fun, and just the kind of people who make my job the actual best.
I left this session feeling all the warm fuzzy feelings and also slightly amazed that we pulled it off so perfectly between two torrential downpours. It truly felt like everything lined up just right.
I cannot wait for their wedding next year at Bedford Village Inn—it’s going to be EPIC in every sense of the word. But until then, I’ll just be over here obsessing over these engagement photos and the total joy that was Molly and Dionigi’s session.
