If every wedding this year is anything like Meghan and Josh’s… I’m in for a very good season.
This was my first wedding of 2025 and let me tell you—it set the bar high. Even though the forecast called for a Nor’easter (rain, rain, and more rain), we somehow dodged every drop. I don’t know how we pulled it off, but the weather held out, and we ended up with great weather!
From the start, the entire day just felt easy—in the best way. Meghan and Josh are the kind of couple who make you feel like you’ve known them forever, and they were surrounded by people who clearly adore them. I’m not even kidding when I say the energy all day was top-tier. The bridal party? Hilarious. Fun. Total hype crew. I think I laughed more during portraits than I did the entire week leading up to the wedding.
Their first look was one of my favorite parts of the day—just the two of them on the dock by the water, soaking it all in before things got busy. It was sweet and quiet and just full of all the feelings.
One of the things that really stuck with me was how many people went out of their way to say something kind. A few bridesmaids told me how fun and chill the whole day felt. Josh’s dad came up to me mid-reception and said, “You’re making this day SO easy,” which just melted me. And then his brother was like, “I’m totally using you for my wedding.” (I was SO happy and honored!)
Stuff like that never gets old. It’s genuinely the highest compliment. I always show up with the mindset that I’m photographing my best friend’s wedding—with all the care, attention, and backup plans in the world. So when people say it feels effortless or like I’m part of the crew… that means everything. It’s exactly what I hope for.
Meghan and Josh, thank you for making the first wedding of the year one for the books. You two are sunshine in human form and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the season! Enjoy reliving the highlights from your day!
