Let me tell you… Genya and James’ wedding was truly one for the books! From incorporating their adorable puppy Edith, to defying the weather forecast… Genya and James’ day was truly one of a kind!

I’ve been to many many weddings, each with a different theme and or vibe for the day…but this was the first time I had a tennis theme! Genya grew up playing the sport, and loved it so much that she had every detail meticulously planned from a vintage tennis pin that she put on her bouquet, to getting married at the one and only Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport RI! The whole day was so magical, and this venue was certainly one of the coolest ones yet! 

The theme was top notch to begin with… but one of the most heartwarming and unforgettable elements of Genya and James’ wedding was the presence of their beloved puppy, Edith. She had a dainty floral collar, and she stole everyone’s hearts as she wagged her tail and sprinted down the aisle! The couple recognized that their furry friend was an integral part of their lives, and knew they had to include her in their special day. I met Edith at the engagement session, and I knew that she was going to be even cuter on the wedding day! 

As fate would have it, the weather forecast predicted rain on the day of Genya and James’ wedding. It has seriously been the rainiest start of summer ever! It seems like we’ve been having nothing but rain all month. (It’s literally raining outside right now as I type this.)

As I was finishing up with her bridal details (which were beyond perfect by the way) I could see the sun trying to make it’s way out, and by the time I was ready to head over to the venue, everything was all dried up! What was initially feared as a damper on the day turned out to be a delightful surprise where we got beautiful even lighting for the ceremony, and even got some portraits with some glow!

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with an energetic cocktail hour and reception. The dance floor was filled with laughter, as their guests got down with all the moves! This was real fun to photograph! 

Genya and James’ wedding day was a vibrant celebration of their love, infused with the most unique wedding theme yet. Even the unexpected turn of weather brought so many moments that made the day all the more memorable. As Genya and James embarked on their journey as a married couple, their wedding day served as a testament to the power of love, creativity, and the beautiful surprises that life has in store.
